I Agree but you would encounter the same problem as we've had with outlook security in other area's. We do something similar on a daily basis from another system and recently switched to sending directly through out server. The way we got around the lack of sent item was to have and internal address copied in on all the e-mails, we then wait for undeliverable reports to arrive to report on those that have failed.
